A RAVEN saw a Swan and desired to secure for himself the same beautiful plumage. Supposing that the Swan's splendid white color arose from his washing in the water in which he swam, the Raven left the altars in the neighborhood where he picked up his living, and took up residence in the lakes and pools. But cleansing his feathers as often as he would, he could not change their color, while through want of food he perished.A WORKMAN, felling wood by the side of a river, let his axe drop - by accident into a deep pool. Being thus deprived of the means of his livelihood, he sat down on the bank and lamented his hard fate. Mercury appeared and demanded the cause of his tears. After he told him his misfortune, Mercury plunged into the stream, and, bringing up a golden axe, inquired if that were the one he had lost. On his saying that it was not his, Mercury disappeared beneath the water a second time, returned with a silver axe in his hand, and again asked the Workman if it were his. When the Workman said it was not, he dived into the pool for the third time and brought up the axe that had been lost. The Workman claimed it and expressed his joy at its recovery. Mercury, pleased with his honesty, gave him the golden and silver axes in addition to his own. The Workman, on his return to his house, related to his companions all that had happened. One of them at once resolved to try and secure the same good fortune for himself. He ran to the river and threw his axe on purpose into the pool at the same place, and sat down on the bank to weep. Mercury appeared to him just as he hoped he would; and having learned the cause of his grief, plunged into the stream and brought up a golden axe, inquiring if he had lost it. The Workman seized it greedily, and declared that truly it was the very same axe that he had lost. Mercury, displeased at his knavery, not only took away the golden axe, but refused to recover for him the axe he had thrown into the pool.

<p>Here's an interesting one for you: the founders of Vine decided to bring out a live trivia game called HQ and you can win real money with it too.</p><p>As pointed out by TechCrunch last week, it's a bit like Facebook Live meets Who Wants to be a Millionaire where you take part against a huge number of other players and try to win big. Prizes ranging from tens/hundreds of dollars to tonight's whopping $1,250 are up for grabs, but it's not a gambling app.</p><p>At the allotted time each day you can pull up the app on your iPhone/iPad, wait for the competition to begin, and try to answer each multiple choice question within 10 seconds to progress to the next round. The game starts off with super simple questions before venturing into harder ones, really whittling out the competition.</p><p>Those that do have a mind of steel will either take home their winnings, or split the grand prize with other winners, via PayPal. Though the app is still young there's a lot of praise and promise surrounding it as an exciting, fast-paced, and interactive experience.</p><p>If you have an appropriate device you can download HQ for free on the App Store. Games take place at 9 PM EDT.</p><p>Have any of you guys had a shot at the game yet? Let us know in the comments below.</p><p>Apple TV games will have to work with the default remote control, or they'll be rejected from the new TV App Store - a decision that could impact the number and type of games seen on the device.</p><p>Previously, Apple said that games could require a full, gaming-focused controller like the SteelSeries Stratus or MadCatz CTRLi, but it was "highly discouraged". These games would only show to those who had paired a pad with their Apple TV.</p><p>Apple has since revised the developer documentation, and now says "your game must support the Apple TV remote".</p><p>This means that while developers can still use gaming controllers, they can't require them. So all games must be playable with the remote - no matter how ill-fitting it may be.</p><p>How does the remote stack up as a gaming controller? Not terribly well: the only inputs it has that developers can make us of is a small touch panel that can be tapped or swiped, and an accelerometer.</p><p>You're not going to be playing Dead Trigger 2 with that.</p><p>Interesting games that make use of the unique remote will inevitably appear. Much like how innovative games like Eliss, Angry Birds, and The Room work best on touchscreens. But your dreams of playing more traditional games on your telly may have just been dashed.</p><p>Unless you, like, buy an Xbox or something. Just sayin'</p>"Yes, I saw it in your eyes."
